“Will there be a public beta for Entourage?”
The answer is highly unlikely. There has never been a public beta for the Mac Office applications. Software Activation is not available for Mac Office. Without software activation, the software pirates could produce bootleg copies of the software from the beta version.
Microsoft has offered a “Test Drive” version for both Office X and Office 2004. I’m confident that there will be a “Test Drive” for Office 2008. You’ll just have to wait for the Office 2008 Test drive to be released to give it a try.
As the adage says, "past performance is not a reliable indication of future performance" but don't get your hopes up.

Adam James Carter:I have the Apple Version of Microsoft office - 2004 which bought whe I bought my Macbook. Yesterday, it stopped deleting some old emails and then stopped working altogether - I tried reinstalling it and rebooting but nothing worked. When I tried to start it, it appeared to start and then gave the message - "This ID cannot work with this version of Entourage" - what has happened to it. cam you kelp me please ? O also have a macbook-pro and all the keys have stopped working. I bought the Apple-Care Protection Plan when I bought the machines so I assume that the machines are both covered . . However, I am disabled and getting to the Apple-store is virtually impossible for me. Can you talk me through resolving these problems.
Thanks,
Adam James Carter.

Diane RossThere is no Apple version. is it possible you have the Test Drive version that gives you the limited 30 days to try out Office?
The error message indicates you need to upgrade Entourage. There was a change to the database in an early update and the 12.0 CD version cannot open the changed database you have used. Download and apply at least the 11.3.5 updater . Office Downloads
As far as your keys not working. I suspect that it could just be something not correctly plugged in. You should be able to call Apple and get help over the phone to troubleshoot. I believe if it's a new machine, they will ship you a new one and send you a box to return.
