Permissions when installing Office Mac 2008 on multi user computer

Currently, Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 incorrectly assigns full read and write access to a nonadministrative user if the Mac is set up with multiple accounts. Depending on your environment, this could be a security problem. This will be corrected in a future update.

Workaround Using Terminal

1) Launch the Terminal application from the /Applications/Utilities
folder

2) Type the following command as one line and press return:

/usr/bin/sudo /usr/sbin/chown –h –R root:admin "/Applications/Microsoft
Office 2008" "/Library/Automator" "/Library/Fonts/Microsoft"
"/Library/Application Support/Microsoft"

3) Enter your administrator password when prompted
