Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.4 update released

Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.4 update released Tuesday, February 12, 2008. There is no update for Office 2008 at this time. Still a bit early.

This is an incremental updater - .dmg file size: 12mb. Requires 11.3.9 to be installed. This update fixes a vulnerability that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code. Entourage will show as 11.4 (080122) after the update.

You can find the updates on Mactopia or use this page that includes all the previous updaters for Office 2004.

Before Installing: Quit any applications that are running, including virus-protection applications, all Office applications, Microsoft Messenger for Mac, and Office Notifications, because they might interfere with installation. How to quit Notifications

Some users have found the need to apply the Apple combo updater to fix problems after MS updates as well as Apple updates.

Some users have reported they lost all or some Office applications during a failed update. Stuff your Office folder prior to updating for backup. This way you could revert to the previous build if there are problems.
