You can verify that the 12.2.1 updater was successfully installed using two methods:
- About Entourage will show the installed info
- Check the Microsoft Component Plugin
Note: About Word, About Excel, About PowerPoint will also give you the version info for the application and the update installed. (added 08/07/09)
About Entourage
You can check the About info for any Office 2008 application to find the installed info.
Select About Entourage from the Menu bar
The version info for an application is different from the installed version. See "Confused over Microsoft Update Version numbers?"
Microsoft Component Plugin
The Microsoft Component Plugin is located in the subfolder, Office in the Microsoft Office 2008 folder in Applications.
Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/MicrosoftComponentPlugin.framework
Remember you can archive (zip) your Office folder in Applications first as a precaution in case you need to revert to the previous install. You can also use a backup copy on Time Machine or a backup copy of your Application folder.
